Project Terms

Payment schedule

I require a non-refundable deposit up front to secure the time you have booked with me. This is usually 50% of the total project cost, with the final 50% being paid upon completion. If we are working together on a particularly large project, I’m happy to work to smaller payment amounts at set milestones.

My receipt of this deposit payment acts as agreement to the project terms on this page.

Specification, requirements and quotes

Before I can start work, we need to agree on a exact specification for your proposed project. This is normally in the form of an in-depth brief detailing all requirements you expect to be included.

After receiving your brief and agreeing on a precise specification for your project, I will be able to estimate the number of days I think the work will take.

My quotes assume that all work will be completed remotely – if you require me to work on-site, we can discuss this.

If you require a fixed price for your project, please let me know and we can work something out.

Content and copyright

If I’m developing a WordPress website for you, I am not responsible for adding page content to this.

You guarantee that all assets provided to use during the development of your project are owned by yourselves or that you’ve got permission to use them. This includes all images, text and other elements.

I’m proud of the work I do and I like to show it off in my portfolio, so I reserve the right, with your permission, to display and link to your project on this website.

Every effort will be made to meet our agreed upon project completion date. Sometimes circumstances change, and if for any reason I think we might struggle to meet the deadline – I will let you know as soon as possible.

Work outside of agreed specification

I understand that projects evolve and that this can happen quite early on. If any additional requirements arise, during your initial project time or afterwards – let me know. I will endeavour to get the extra work done as closely to your original project time as possible.

Please note that any additional development will effect any agreed deadlines and quotes. All extras will be charged at my £300 day rate and added to the final project invoice.

Rush rate

If you need to move a deadline forward or you want a project completing in extra quick time, let me know and we can discuss a price for that.

Any quotes assume that I’ll be building a front-end using HTML5, CSS3 and any JavaScript plugins required for feature detection, polyfills and behaviours. I will typically build mobile first using my own starting point, but if you have any specific requests – let me know.

Again, any quotes assume I will be developing using my own starting point. If you want me to use a specific framework – let me know.

Browser support and testing

I test my work in current versions of major desktop browsers including Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Edge.

If you require specific compatibility with older browsers, let me know and I can factor this in to any quote.

It is your responsibility to check over the final finished product.

Hosting and moving websites live

I don’t offer website hosting or domain registration services. I can recommend appropriate solutions, but this will be your responsibility.

If you will need help moving a site live when the time comes, let me know and I can factor this into any quotes.
